Accredited Courses
Accredited courses give students a nationally recognised qualification and cross-industry skill recognition. If a student is unable to complete the full course, or elect to complete one or several units a Statement of Attainment, also recognised nationally, is available for each unit of competency they successfully complete.
Accredited courses offered by the School are:
- Diploma of Business
- Certificate II in Business
- Certificate I in Active Volunteering
- Certificate III in Customer Contact
- Certificate II in Customer Contact
All accredited courses offered by the School are delivered by Distance Education, unless otherwise specified. This means that students don’t attend lectures, workshops, etc, but study for themselves, not by themselves, with each student allocated a tutor on enrolment.
Tutor Support
The tutor's role is to encourage learning by developing a positive learning environment in which the student can successfully complete the course/unit within the agreed timeframe. After the initial discussion with the student, the tutor will have regular telephone and email contact with the student in accordance with the tutoring schedule they have agreed for each unit. Tutor contact is expected to be not less than monthly but may be more fequent as determined by the schedule. The student's tutor will normally also be their assessor. The School's distance education courses provide flexibility and quality learning experiences for students, and are conducted with the same level of preparation and commitment as classroom based training.
Ways to Achieve Qualification
Students can achieve their qualification in one or a combination of three ways, each requiring a substantial time commitment:- Satisfactory completion of formal course work and a work-based project
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
- Credit Transfer
(Note: Copies of certificates and Statements of Attainment, which have been verified by a Justice of the Peace, should be forwarded with your application.)
